Oir Test

OIR : OFFICER INTELLIGENCE RATING TEST

It comprises of a set of verbal and non-verbal intelligence tests. These are group-administered tests and contain components such as reasoning ability, spatial ability, numerical ability, verbal reasoning, odd-even numbers, matching, series completion, coding-decoding, etc.

The OIR is calculated, on the basis of the raw scores that are obtained which are thereafter converted into standard scores. The standard scores obtained are interpreted with reference to the rating range from (1-5) which gives the officer’s Intelligence Rating (OIR). Generally, OIR 1,2,3, represent a higher grade and 4 or 5 represent a lower grade.

Points to be kept in mind·
-> Tests are very simple in nature and of average degree of difficulty.
-> No negative marking is there.
-> Time management is very important. Time is generally 30 seconds per question.
-> Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) is very important for subsequent stage two testing and if a rating is on higher grade I .e.1,2,3, it will have a positive impact on your assessment.

The Reasoning Test is conducted to check the Basic IQ of the candidate. There are generally three sets of Questions of about 40-50 Questions each. A candidate gets around 30 seconds to solve each question.
